Pokemon has always been a huge part of my life, ever since it first aired in Canada on YTV in 1998. I would devotedly watch every Saturday morning, never missing an episode, and would fill the Pokemon void during the week by collecting, organizing, and trading my precious Pokemon cards, of which I had somewhere around 850 (the fact that I still remember that number goes to tell you how seriously I took my collecting). I also had a ~~not so~~ low-key crush on Ash. My family never lets me forget that one.

Seals are definitely one of my all-time fave aquatic animals. Every time I see them at the zoo or aquarium, I have to be physically dragged away from the exhibit, lest I decide to camp out for the night. If you show me a picture of a baby seal, I will literally scream in agony over the sheer unbearable cuteness. If it’s a video, I’ll enter cardiac arrest. Because baby seals are precious, innocent little puffs of heaven on earth. Their very existence demands adoration.

Have you ever grown your own plants before? I can’t say I have a lot of experience with this myself, but just this summer, I decided to give growing some of my own herbs a try. When I say give it a try, I mean “go to the grocery store and buy their pre-potted herbs” kind of try. That still counts though, right? I ended up with a parsley plant, as well as a cute little shiso and mizuna plant I found at my local Japanese store.

In the beginning, I was quite diligent with my watering duties, and even used some of the parsley in an omelette (such a proud plant-mama moment). Fast forward a few weeks, however, and my parsley and mizuna plants had, quite literally, dropped dead. Needless to say, I am now tagged in every meme about killing plants on Facebook.
