I don’t think there exists a person who doesn’t love milk and cookies. Is it even possible? I’m not sure our genetics allows for such an anomaly; it’s like evolution naturally selected for humankind’s fondness of this nostalgic childhood treat. But no amount of evolution could prepare you for the cuteness that is this milk & cookies bento box – it’s cuteness of the highest, most lethal order, and it will melt your brain into a puddle of disabled neurons. (And that itty bitty little straw sticking out of the milk = finishing blow. Totally KO’d.)

If you had to pick one quintessential Halloween candy – a candy that embodies the Halloween spirit and acts as a deliciously edible symbol of the spooky holiday people either love or despise – what would it be? For me, that title would have to go to candy corn. I mean, who can look at candy corn and not instantaneously think of Halloween? I’m pretty sure it’s a visceral, inborn response. And so, it seems fitting that the first Halloween themed bento item I have for you this October are these ultra cute, ultra festive Candy Corn Onigiri.

Fun fact: little grade 2 me wanted to be a paleontologist when she grew up. Needless to say, that goal didn’t exactly pan out – Jurassic Park kind of scared me away from the profession. However, I think I just may have taken a step closer to my grade 2 occupational dreams with this bento box, which combines my dormant love of dinosaurs with my present day love for Pusheen the Cat. Say hello to the friendly feline herbivore “Pusheenosaurus” (AKA Dinosaur Pusheen), a rare species of dinosaur who’s ready to fill your next bento box with ridiculous, lethal levels of cuteness.
